JOB SUMMARY
As a Network Engineer 2 you will be responsible for the implementation of approved network/video architecture and designs. A Network Engineer 2 assists in the documentation and implementation of configuration changes to network systems of varying complexity. As a member of the team, you will develop and implement network/video enhancements while following corporate standards.
The successful candidate will possess:
Beginner to Intermediate knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Physical Media (Multimode/Singlemode Fiber, UTP, etc.), bridging, switching, routing, Ethernet and transport technologies and protocols.Beginner to Intermediate knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology.Beginner to Intermediate knowledge in DOCSIS technologies and CMTS routers.Beginner to Intermediate knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model.Beginner to Intermediate knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.Knowledge of basic network devices and network appliances.Beginner to Intermediate knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio.WHAT OUR NETWORK ENGINEERS ENJOY MOST
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.Participates in evaluation planning, design and engineering of lab enhancements.Integrates communication industry architectures, topologies, hardware and software into complete network configurations.Evaluates new products, makes recommendations for improvement.Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards.Implements approved methods of procedure.Works on projects/systems/issues of medium to high complexity surrounding CATV planning, configuration and optimization.Provides support across organizations.Works on one or more projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project team lead.Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.Knows, understands and follows company policy.Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years of product testing and evaluation experienceEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experienceSkills:Proficient knowledge of RF test equipment (Keysight, Rhode & Schwartz)Proficient knowledge of related industry specifications and standards SCTE, ANSI, IEEE, etc.Proficient knowledge in CATV outside plant network design or HFC network architectureExperience with S-parameters or MER requiredProficient knowledge with Amplifiers and/or line extendersExperience with egress leakage, RFI and channel noise desiredKnowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, SharepointAbilities:
Ability to read, write and speak the English languageAbility to use personal computer and software applicationsAbility to work in a lab and team environmentAbility to perform duties in a very fast paced environment and ability to learn new technology quickly Travel Ability: Occasional travel as requiredSchedule:

Preferred Qualifications
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

The base pay for this position generally is between $75,200.00 and $120,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
