Network Engineer II/Hybrid South Jersey

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our client’s network infrastructure. This role requires a thorough understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software, as well as a proactive approach to troubleshooting and optimizing network performance.
Key Responsibilities: Network Design & Implementation: Design, configure, and deploy network solutions to meet the business needs, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks. Maintenance & Support: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the network infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Security: Implement and manage security measures to protect the network from cyber threats and unauthorized access. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly, ensuring seamless communication and data transfer across the network. Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures. Performance Monitoring: Monitor network performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure high availability and reliability. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other IT professionals and departments to support various projects and initiatives. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering or a related role. Technical Skills: Proficiency in network hardware and software, including Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet. Strong understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.). Experience with network monitoring tools and technologies (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds). Familiarity with security practices and technologies (e.g., VPN, IDS/IPS, firewalls). Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN design and implementation. Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+) are highly desirable. Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
