Description
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer III to join our team in Houston, TX. This role involves independently performing a variety of complex network engineering tasks, particularly those related to the design, implementation, and support of integrated networks. You will lead major technical network activities, including research, design, and development, while ensuring that engineering solutions meet customer specifications and network design requirements. In addition, you will supervise and guide a team of network engineers to ensure the successful execution of high-priority, high-complexity network projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Network Design & Implementation:Lead the design, development, and implementation of integrated networks, encompassing personnel, hardware, software, and support facilities/equipment to meet project and business needs.
+ Technical Leadership:Lead complex network engineering activities, providing direction, oversight, and technical expertise to junior network engineers and other team members. Ensure that tasks are completed on time and within scope.
+ Research & Development:Plan and execute network engineering research and design activities, ensuring alignment with both customer specifications and network engineering best practices.
+ Project Leadership:Oversee and manage large-scale network engineering projects, ensuring that all aspects of the design, development, and implementation processes are effectively coordinated and executed.
+ Collaboration & Communication:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, IT teams, and external stakeholders, to ensure that integrated network solutions align with broader technical and business objectives.
+ Network Performance & Optimization:Ensure the network infrastructure performs at optimal levels, implementing necessary improvements, upgrades, and performance tuning where required.
+ Team Supervision & Development:Supervise a team of network engineers, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to foster professional growth and ensure the team's success in completing complex tasks.
+ Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:Lead the identification and resolution of complex network issues, ensuring timely and efficient problem resolution to minimize disruptions to network services.
+ Documentation & Reporting:Maintain comprehensive documentation of network designs, configurations, and ongoing modifications. Prepare reports and technical documentation to communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders.
+ Standards & Best Practices:Ensure adherence to industry standards, best practices, and organizational policies in all network engineering activities.
Requirements
Requirements:
+ 10+ years of extensive experience in network engineering, including designing and implementing integrated networks
+ Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
+ New hires assigned on this project will be required to undergo and pass drug and alcohol tests per our client's contract requirements.
+ Ability to work on site
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Proven ability to lead and manage high-complexity network engineering projects, providing direction to a team of engineers.
+ Strong knowledge of network design, troubleshooting, and optimization practices.
+ In-depth understanding of networking protocols, hardware, software, and support equipment.
+ Proficiency with network technologies and tools such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and load balancing.
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
+ Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
