HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER INTERMEDIATE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Will complete tasks assigned by Senior Network Engineer. Under general supervision will install, configure, and support an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Agency Internet Network (AIN), Intranet and Internet and other data communications systems or a segment of a network system; maintain network hardware and software; monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users and perfor necessary maintenance to support network availability; provides support to projects that involve networks; and provides support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders.Analyzes user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop network requirements specificationsGuides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studiesAnalyzes network requirements and capacity and leads design and development activitiesProvides technical leadership for the integration of network requirements, design, and technologyIncorporates new network plans, designs and systems into ongoing operationsDevelops network architecture and network design documentationGuides network development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of network engineering management plans and network integration and test plansDesigns and performs integration of new technologies into local and wide area networksProvides advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problemsManages the transition and migration of networks and development of network addressing schemesInteracts with the Government regarding Network Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflictsUltimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Network Engineering area of responsibilityCommunicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experienceRequired Skillset:Assist with research and implementation of enterprise system-wide network solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectivesTroubleshoot and resolve issues with network infrastructure and/or componentsEvaluate and monitor health and performance of the network including hardware and management softwareAssist with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation of all network configuration upgrades, additions or revisions for customer approval before implementationSecurity Clearance Level: TS/SCIRequired Certification(s):DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contractIAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalentRequired Computing Environment Certification: CCNA Location: On Customer SiteAdditional:Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contractPosition may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activityTravel may be required to support the missionGDIT IS YOUR PLACE:
