As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, optimization and maintenance of LAN, WAN, and WLAN communications to ensure success in meeting customer goals and objectives. You will be trusted to work with a variety of different technologies. In this role, a typical day will include:
Responsibilities:
Oversees and participates in the design, testing, upgrade and integration of new or existing information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Voice over IP (VoIP), intranets, extranets, and other communications networks in accordance with the organization’s business requirements.Documents all aspects of the engineering process as it relates to build and configuration, testing, and deployment of networks.Coordinates changes such as implementation of new networks, upgrades or version increments to existing networks with network administrators and stakeholders.Plans, coordinates, and implements security measures to safeguard new and existing networks.Performs network modeling, analysis, and planning.Coordinates with architecture and evaluate new and emerging network technologies and make recommendations for selection of these products.Assists network administrators with complex troubleshooting issues and if needed coordinates vendor engagements to assist in troubleshooting efforts.Provide day-to-day operational or administrative duties for deployed networks in lab or production environments.Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.Ability to work with other senior technical and user staff to complete projects.Plans and leads major technology assignments.Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.Level IV performs more independent thinking, complex tasks with little to no supervision and may supervise others.Ensure administrative functions (timekeeping, reports, etc.) are completed and reported to leadership in a timely manner.Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, or related field8+ years of progressive experience in network engineeringCisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) training and four (4) years of practical experience in a production environment5+ years or more experience in a major hospital supporting more than 100+ beds environment5+ years of experience supporting a military production network10+ years of experience supporting LAN and WLAN activitiesDesigning and deploying a wireless network consisting of 1300+ wireless access points (WAPs)Excellent verbal and communications skillsAreas of emphasis include:
An intermediate or above level of proficiency with MS Office products (E.g., Word, PowerPoint, Access)Applicable network certificationsDemonstrated experience regularly troubleshooting systems functionalityDemonstrated experience consulting with internal and external customers to understand business and technical needs, and make recommendations as neededWeekly Scheduled Hours:

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
