As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and optimization of our network infrastructure. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks, allowing you to showcase your expertise and contribute significantly to our IT landscape. **This position follows a Panama shift, hours are from 6pm-6am.** **Responsibilities:** Network Monitoring & Incident Management: + Monitor network performance, availability, and security using industry standard monitoring tools + Detect, analyze, and respond to network alerts, outages, and performance degradation in real-time + Identify root causes of network incidents and work on immediate resolution or escalate as required + Maintain and update incident tickets with detailed troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and action items + Provide technical expertise and support to other teams, including the Operations Manager, Deputy Operations Manager, and Watch Officer + Lead change management efforts, including identifying the need for changes, recording change management requests, and implementing changes + Review and validate changes to ensure they are properly implemented and do not introduce new risks or issues Troubleshooting & Support: + Collaborate with the Security Analyst to ensure the security of the network and its components + Participate in incident response and remediation efforts, supporting the declaration of incidents, providing updates, and participating war room efforts + Drive collaboration with the LNOs and other teams to ensure that network changes are properly coordinated and implemented + Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers + Work closely with ISPs, vendors, and internal teams to resolve network connectivity issues + Support network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VoIP, and wireless networks + Diagnose application-related network issues and collaborate with relevant teams for resolution Network Maintenance & Optimization: + Perform routine health checks and maintenance on network devices, ensuring up-to-date configurations and patches + Execute network change implementations following ITIL change management processes + Document network configurations, troubleshooting steps, and operational processes to maintain an updated knowledge base + Work on network performance tuning and capacity planning Security & Compliance: + Ensure client and company network security policies and best practices are followed + Monitor for security threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access attempts + Oversee network audits, compliance checks, and security incident response **Qualifications:** _Required:_ + Active DoD Secret clearance + Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field and 10+ years of relevant experience (bachelor’s degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience). + Certifications: Security+ Experience: Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and 5+ years of related work experience in network administration, network operations, or IT support roles. + Technical Skills: + Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar network equipment + Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, etc.) + In-Depth knowledge of network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, ACLs) + Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus + Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Ansible) are an advantage + Soft Skills: + Strong problem-solving and analytical skills + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night shifts + Effective communication skills for incident documentation and escalation + Ability to handle stressful situations and critical outages with a calm approach + Experience utilizing ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA, Remedy etc.) _Desired:_ + Industry certifications related to data networking (CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP, etc.) + DoD certifications (CISSP, etc.) + Experience with DoD network cyber security and DISA STIG requirements + Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) + ITIL Foundation Certification + Experience working with DoD customers. + 3+ Years working in a NOC/SOC environment - **________________________________________________________________________________________** **What You Can Expect:** **A culture of integrity.** At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
