As a Junior Network Engineer, you'll gain hands-on experience with the essential technologies and practices that power our connected world. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, learning and contributing to the daily operations of our dynamic network environment.

This position follows a Panama shift, hours are from 6pm-6am.



Responsibilities:

Network Monitoring & Incident Reporting:

Learn to use industry standard monitoring tools to observe network performance, availability, and security under the guidance of senior engineers.Assist in identifying and reporting network alerts, outages, and performance issues.Shadow senior engineers during incident response and contribute to initial troubleshooting efforts.Update and maintain incident tickets with guidance from senior engineers, documenting basic troubleshooting steps and actions taken.Gain exposure to collaborating with Operations and Security teams during incident resolution.

Basic Troubleshooting & Support:

Develop an understanding of network security practices and assist senior engineers in maintaining a secure network environment.Participate in incident response efforts in a support role, following established procedures.Assist with network change implementations under the supervision of senior engineers.Learn to troubleshoot basic network issues related to switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers with guidance from senior engineers.Shadow senior engineers during interactions with ISPs, vendors, and internal teams to resolve network connectivity issues.Provide basic support for LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VoIP, and wireless network infrastructure as directed.Network Documentation & Maintenance:

Perform routine health checks and basic maintenance tasks on

network devices under the supervision of senior engineers.Assist with maintaining network documentation, including configurations, troubleshooting steps, and operational processes.Shadow senior engineers during network performance tuning and capacity planning activities to gain practical experience.

Security & Compliance:

Become familiar with client and company network security policies and best practices.Assist senior engineers in monitoring for security threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access attempts.Participate in network audits, compliance checks, and security incident response activities in a support role.


Qualifications:

Required: 

Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearanceBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field and 3+ years of relevant experience (bachelor’s degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience).Security+ Certification  Technical Skills:Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar network equipmentStrong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, etc.)In-Depth knowledge of network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, ACLs)Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plusScripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Ansible) are an advantageSoft Skills:Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision during night shiftsEffective communication skills for incident documentation and escalationAbility to handle stressful situations and critical outages with a calm approachExperience utilizing ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA, Remedy etc.)

Desired: 

Industry certifications related to data networking (CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP, etc.)DoD certifications (CISSP, etc.)Experience with DoD network cyber security and DISA STIG requirementsKnowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN)ITIL Foundation CertificationExperience working with DoD customers.3+ Years working in a NOC/SOC environment

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$66,100 - $135,600
