**Description** SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer Principal to join our team at the Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. SAIC is a proud member of the Advance Battle Management System (ABMS) consortium in support of the Department of the Air Force’s (DAF) mission objectives. A common objective we share with our Air Force customer is creating decision superiority by delivering relevant information and capabilities to warfighters and operators. This position represents a unique opportunity within SAIC’s Air Force Business Group (BG) with multiple opportunities available to support our growing Portfolio, as well as working closely with mission partners across the defense industry. **The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:** + Strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management. + Managing complex projects or processes with general oversight. + Communicating within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. + Making moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. + Contributing to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results. + Conducting network architecture design, feasibility and modeling. + Designing, analyzing, planning, and modifying network components and/or software by translating customer requirements and objectives into final product design. + Developing and evaluating network performance criteria and measurement methods. + Preparing the analysis of the short-term or long-term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling. **Qualifications** + Bachelors Degree and nine (9) years of prior relevant experience; Masters Degree and seven (7) years of prior related experience; thirteen (13) years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree + Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance + Requires strong knowledge of job area. Typically viewed as having a specialty within discipline. May have broad knowledge of project management.
