Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Engineer Support Analyst in Reston, VA. Primary Responsibilities: * Help modernize Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN) transport and security through communications transport policy, Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) tech refresh, legacy elimination, Joint Reginal Security Stack (JRSS) deprecation, data center optimization, Internet Protocol Version Six (IPv6) strategy, and 4th Estate Network Optimization * Provide subject matter expertise and technical analysis in the areas of network operations to include hybrid and hyper-converged compute optimization * Support development and coordination of implementation plans to modernize and optimize network capabilities (i.e., DISN, Military Department (MILDEP) network convergence optimization; 4th Estate Network Optimization; SIPRNet Modernization, edge cloud, IT technical debt, TDM elimination) in support of Department priorities to increase security, enhance effectiveness and gain efficiencies across the DoDIN * Conduct reviews of component implementation plans and support the development and coordination of recommended investment strategies for infrastructure consolidation and optimization * Support the identification of opportunities presented by advances in technology for Information Technology (IT) system modernization as well as associated risks and costs to include Software Defined Networking (SDN), hybrid cloud-based computing including hyper-converged services, and common enterprise-level shared services to support full-stack service delivery
