Kforce has a client in the Sacramento/San Francisco, CA area that is seeking a Network/Infrastructure Cabling Engineer.
Daily Activities:
* Architectural (Design of TR spaces based on building size/IT requirements)
* Mechanical (HVAC size based on IT equipment specs)
* Electrical (UPS sizing, pathway design based on IT requirements)
* Cabling SOW (backbone, horizontal cabling - fiber/copper/specialty)
* Site Assessments (Schematic Design and estimation tool)
* IT Design (Design Development/Construction Documents for follow-on engineering)
* Cabling SOWs (CD/Add Move Change for IT and Regulatory Device connectivity)
Responsibilities:
* In this role, the Network Engineer works directly with customers, vendors, and Strategic Partners to identify, troubleshoot, resolve data networking related issues and/or design network solutions
* Troubleshoot and resolve LAN/WAN connectivity issues as they arise in and Ethernet and Token Ring environment
* Maintain data integrity through daily backup of all file server information
* Ensure that an effective tape rotation is maintained
* Troubleshoot hardware problems
* Provide timely and accurate progress status on all ongoing support issues, with an emphasis on problems, issues, and concerns
* The Network Engineer will monitor telecommunications performance and make configuration changes to hubs, routers, switches, etc., as necessary to ensure that maximum network performance is maintained
* Manage server disk space, memory, caching, and other performance metrics to ensure that all servers are operating at peak efficiency
* As a Network Engineer, you will evaluate and recommend new or upgraded products to enhance the performance of the LAN/WAN
