**Where you’ll work:**
This is an onsite opportunity where you will report to the customer location in Port Hueneme, CA.
**An average day:**
As a Network Infrastructure Expert, you will support a computing environment that operates on a 24/7 basis to meet the critical mission requirements of the customers Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) infrastructures (unclassified and classified up to and including Secret), as well as SIPRNET. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain networks, servers, voice/video systems, and related IT services to ensure a secure, resilient, and fully compliant environment. You will be responsible for advanced troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software—ranging from data center equipment to telephony services—and will collaborate closely with stakeholders to sustain operational availability and support evolving mission demands. In this position you will:
+ Support the 24/7 operational environment for all in-scope systems, including unclassified/classified networks, SIPRNET, servers, storage, and applications, ensuring continuous mission readiness.
+ Perform advanced installation, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, TACLANEs), server operating systems, and applications in accordance with DISA STIGs and other DoD cybersecurity standards.
+ Manage voice and video collaboration services from the demarcation point to end-user devices, including planning and executing transitions from POTS to VoIP, programming new installations, and addressing directory listings and monthly line lease management.
+ Provide oversight to personnel responsible for wiring, installing, and upgrading voice, video, and data cable infrastructure (fiber and copper) to support moves, adds, changes, and large-scale remodel projects.
+ Oversee LAN/WAN architecture, designing and implementing new network infrastructure—including EKMS cryptographic devices—to ensure secure and efficient data transport for classified and unclassified environments.
+ Execute Test Event support, including scheduling, setup, teardown, and technical guidance for telephony, video, and other conferencing services as required by internal and external stakeholders.
+ Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, policies, and plans in alignment with DoD and customer directives, ensuring consistent adherence to the Command Change Management process.
+ Provide expert consultation on network and telecommunications design strategies, system topology, and the application of DoD Information Assurance policies, with a focus on secure IP-based voice and video conferencing (VTC) environments.
+ Act as a subject matter expert for firewall traversal, session protocols, encryption devices, and conference bridging applications, ensuring high availability and reliability for all voice/video services.
+ Coordinate with stakeholders to forecast future IT and telephony needs, offering engineering design recommendations for expansion, modernization, or technology transitions.
+ Ensure all environments—including RDT&E and SIPRNET—are fully monitored, documented, and compliant with security and operational standards at all times.
+ Provide surge coverage during high-volume work periods or when core staff are unavailable, ensuring minimal disruptions to mission-critical operations.
+ Collaborate with the Help Desk and end-users to log, track, and resolve complex IT service requests or incidents, ensuring timely and high-quality customer support.
+ Continuously review and enhance security measures, performance metrics, and operational procedures in alignment with evolving DoD cybersecurity and mission requirements.
+ Monitor and maintain servers, applications, and databases, applying OS upgrades, security patches, and other necessary updates to meet 24/7 operational and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
+ Minimum of five years of Cisco layer 2 and layer 3 infrastructure experience, including proficiency with Cisco LAN/WAN switches and routers.
+ Minimum of five years of Firewall and IDS/IPS administration and configuration experience, including configuring Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), VoIP, and Wi-Fi solutions.
+ Must hold a IAT Level II certification, CompTIA Security + Ce is the preferred certification
+ Experience in gathering and executing cable management requirements to ensure reliable and organized network installations.
+ Minimum of five years securing a Cisco environment in accordance with DISA STIGs, encompassing IP routing protocols, network security countermeasures (firewalls, ACLs, IDS, encryption devices), and proper STIG application to switches, routers, and other network components.
+ Knowledge of advanced or complex network engineering or IT requirements (installation, configuration, maintenance, etc.) within unclassified or classified environments.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Minimum of five years of experience with scoping, architecture, and design of new LAN/WAN network infrastructure including EKMS cryptographic devices and long-haul requirements.
+ Familiarity with advanced telephony and collaboration solutions, such as enhanced VoIP and VTC infrastructures, and their integration with Cisco ecosystems.
+ Advanced certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP demonstrating a high level of expertise in network and security disciplines.
**Other:**
+ Must have an active Interim Secret or Secret Clearance
+ May be required to perform duties outside of standard hours of operation in order to support mission requirements, including planned and unplanned maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and upgrades.
+ Occasional Travel to other facility locations may be required
