Responsibilities Oversee the operation and strategic direction of INR's multi-domain network infrastructure, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient performance in support of the bureau's mission.Lead network design and architecture initiatives, incorporating modernization efforts such as cloud migration and the adoption of virtualization/containerization technologies.Manage the network's operational health, including monitoring performance, coordinating maintenance activities, and resolving outages or disruptions.Develop and enforce network policies and procedures, including those related to configuration management, change control, and cybersecurity compliance.Coordinate with the Diplomatic Security (DS), Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and System Integration Branch (SIB) to align network infrastructure with space management and operational requirements within the National Capital Region.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Telecommunications, Wireless and Data Services (TWD), and Desktop Support (DSD), to ensure cohesive network support and service delivery.Facilitate the integration of new technologies and systems into the existing network, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to security standards.Lead the network component of construction projects managed by GSA/Contractors, ensuring the IT infrastructure is built to INR's specifications and requirements.Manage network-related projects from conception through implementation, including the physical setup and moves of new spaces to ensure operational readiness.Provide subject matter expertise on network security architecture, including Zero Trust design and implementation, to safeguard against internal and external threats.Document network designs, configurations, and maintenance procedures, maintaining a repository of information for continuity and knowledge transfer.Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree – Information or Computer Systems a plusStrong understanding of network technologies and protocols, with experience in multi-domain environments.Proven experience in managing complex network infrastructures, preferably within a government or intelligence community contextDemonstrated ability in leading network modernization initiatives, with a focus on cloud integration and advanced security architecturesExperience handling multiple projects at onceExperience taking over management of projects at different levels of completionRelevant certifications such as DoD Directive 8570 compliance or equivalent industry-recognized credentialsMust be a U.S. Citizen and possess a TS/SCI security clearanceMust be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment

Preferred Qualifications

Networking Certifications a plusCertified Information Security Manager (CISM) a plusProject Management Professional preferredGood working skills in Remedy trouble ticketing and asset management systemPrevious working experience at DoS is desirable, but not required
