BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Network Operations Manager plays a critical role in optimizing supply chain operations, reducing costs, and improving performance across the entire supply chain network. They are responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing supply chain processes and flows that align with organizational goals and objectives.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees network performance, developing and enhancing network policies and procedures and enabling reporting that monitors safety, quality, service, cost, and sustainability. Execute the long-term network strategy, managing projects to expand supply chain footprint, consolidate operations, and develop solutions that help drive Sales growth. Collaborates with supply chain, warehouse, and transportation teams to ensure efficient inventory management, order fulfillment, and delivery. Streamlines processes to achieve best delivered pricing while maintaining service quality. Monitor and report on current and forecasted network capacity utilization and work to eliminate inefficiencies, overflows, and waste. Implements predictive analytics to digestive demand forecasting and proactively address fluctuations in demand. Develop contingency plans for some scenarios depending on likelihood, risk, and opportunity. Monitors customer feedback and adjusts network operations accordingly and develops scalable network strategies to accommodate future growth. Serves as a champion for change management, reinforcing the overall network strategy while supporting continuous improvement initiatives at a site level. Drives continuous evaluation and planning for network scalability, redundancy, and flexibility. Builds relationships across key stakeholders and internal customers, including Sales, Business Units, Finance, IT, EH&S, and Operations. Coaches and leads with a focus on performance, accountability, and development. Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose. Proactively identify risks in the in supply chain and devise strategies to mitigate. Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or the equivalent is required. Minimum five years of experience in supply chain and logistics with background in network optimization Experience in supply chain systems, including but not limited to SAP and TMS Excellent communication, management, follow up, coaching, organization and analytical skills. Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Positive and professional demeanor in all interaction with key stakeholders, internal and external. Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills with demonstrated use of data analyses and metrics to drive decision making and continuous improvement.

 

Bonus Points If You Have:

Strong customer service skills, establishing tasks and goals to meet and outperform customer expectations, particularly related to development of new processes and services The ability to manage projects with broad sphere of influence, for example, covering material handling operations’ improvements while coordinating with Finance on a business case and messaging with the P&L owner on overall impact Familiarity with the best software systems used to model network performance The ability to evaluate changes in logistics processes, determine resolutions, and implement quickly. The ability to adapt and blend different leadership styles to meet the unique demands of the Supply Chain environment and be agile.

 

 

Other Requirements:

A valid driver’s license is required. Position requires 10-20% travel, with some periods of significant travel on some projects.
