Network Operations Technician - Remote Opportunity

The Network Operations Technician works closely with Network and Telecom Engineers, IT Service Desk, the IT Center Growth & Strategic Projects team as well other internal and external customers to maintain system stability and reliability. KinderCare’s network and telecom systems leverage technology from Cisco, VeloCloud, CradlePoint, and 8x8 with cloud networking in AWS.

The ideal candidate will understand networking and telecom concepts, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to work well in a fast-paced environment. The Network Operations Technician will be a technical team player across disciplines, providing rapid resolutions while maintaining a proactive approach that will be essential in maintaining the integrity and security of our network and telecom infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide operational support, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and corrective maintenance on the LAN, and WAN networks.Collaborate with the New Center Growth team to identify and support installation of all network and telecom services necessary for the successful onboarding or opening of new learning centers.Monitor network and telecom system performance and identify potential issues.Solve network and telecom problems in a timely manner.Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as the creation and upkeep of Network and Telecom documentation and knowledge base articles.Coordinate with vendors and internal partners to ensure project benchmarks are met on time and within budget.Support of our SDWAN solution and wireless infrastructure in the field and corporate locations.Collaborate with other teams to resolve network and telecom issues.Provide technical support to end-users and other IT staff as needed.Plan, coordinate, and troubleshoot network and telecom installations with 3rd party partners, driving process and configuration improvements to simplify execution and service delivery.Serve as a technical point of contact for all matters related to network and telecom infrastructure efforts. Qualifications: 2 or more years' experience in an advancing technical role; Service Desk, IT Coordinator, Etc. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related field.Demonstrable ability to handle high visibility outages or issues.Experience working directly with vendors, managing vendor delivery and schedules.Experience with ITIL processes as well as experience in related tools and technologies.Demonstrated growth experience, showing a consistent track record of taking on new challenges and driving their success.ITIL, Network or Telecom certifications are a plus.


PREFERRED SKILLS:

Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams and external partners.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge in the operations, security, and support of enterprise network and telecom infrastructure.Growth mindset with persistence in the face of obstacles.Working experience with current monitoring tools and vendor management.Knowledge of cybersecurity standard processes and protocols.Knowledge or interest in python scripting/REST API for Network Management/ Cloud Automation Tools.Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation tasks.Passion for the customer which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence.
