Network Security Administrator

**Amentum** is seeking a Network Security **Administrator I** to join our team in **Hawthorne, Nevada** to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Network Administrator will be a key staff member with the Information Management (IT) Department. Typical functions include installation of various types of data centers, i.e. servers, computers, printers, etc. and the operation, maintenance and resolving hardware and software errors. Network Administrator will monitor data communication networks.
**Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. **
**Typical Responsibilities Include** :
+ Provides operation and maintenance of hardware and software with minimal supervision.
+ Maintains and repairs personal computer and network equipment.
+ Provides software maintenance, testing and debugging and installation of upgrades and new applications utilizing Microsoft Configuration Manager.
+ Supports integrated communications operations and maintenance tasks to include monitoring data communications network and resolving problems, monitoring hub activity, and performing diagnostics.
+ Supports the development and review of approved procedures to those processes that users follow, and updates work instructions accordingly. Explain user procedures for system operation and maintenance. Creates and delivers training for users and management.
+ Maintain up-to-date equipment and software inventories, and up-to-date network drawings.
+ Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions, operational difficulties, and remediate vulnerabilities.
+ Assist the Network Operations Manager with the responsibility for assuring patches, upgrades and security issues are maintained to all current directives.
+ Attends meetings as required to report on and resolve range Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) data communication problems.
+ Identifies areas of operation, which need upgraded equipment. Researches, tests, evaluates, and recommends data communications hardware and software.
+ Supports the Computer Systems Analyst to determine limitations of existing systems and performs duties as alternate System Administrator.
+ Documents maintenance actions into necessary systems.
+ Supports the Network Infrastructure in case of critical outages.
+ Performs all other position related duties as assigned.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Must be 18 years or older.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license.
+ Must also be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.
+ CompTIA Security+ certification or acquire within 6 months of obtaining position.
+ Five years’ experience in Network Administration or equivalent preferred.
+ Experience with system backups and disaster recovery systems.
+ Good writing and verbal communication skills.
+ Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.
+ Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by the Master Training Plan.
**Desired Qualifications**
+ Good understanding of Microsoft Configuration Manager database management, software development, modifications and/or installations.
+ Candidate must have good working knowledge all Microsoft Office applications.
+ Must be familiar with asset management/real property tasks and procedures.
+ Must be able to demonstrate independent decision-making skills where problems and situations are based largely on precedent or practice.
**Safety Sensitive Position**
This position is designated as non-safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by the Hawthorne Army Depot Commander and HWAD O&M contract requirements.
