Network Security Administrator
Description Job Summary An established and respected medical group in Palm Springs is looking for a Network Security Administrator to ensure the security and integrity of their network infrastructure. This role will focus on monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing the organization's cybersecurity posture through advanced technical support, risk assessments, and proactive security measures. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of security protocols and the ability to implement best practices to protect against cyber threats. Responsibilities + Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies and procedures to safeguard the organization’s digital assets. + Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential threats and weaknesses in the network infrastructure. + Deploy, configure, and maintain security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and SIEM solutions. + Monitor network traffic for anomalous behavior and respond to security incidents in a timely and efficient manner. + Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analyses; report findings to the management team. + Lead employee training initiatives on cybersecurity awareness and best practices. + Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, vulnerabilities, and legislative changes; recommend improvements to enhance the organization’s security posture. + Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance with security policies and standards. + Manage access control policies and security configurations for Active Directory, servers, LAN/WAN, and related infrastructure. + Assist in developing and maintaining disaster recovery and contingency plans for data protection. + Install, configure, and support Windows servers, VMWare, MS365, MS SQL Server, SANs, and other security technologies. + Maintain accurate hardware inventories and documentation of changes to network configurations. + Respond to technical issues, document actions taken, and assist in troubleshooting security-related incidents. Requirements Must Have + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. + 5+ years of experience in a network security role. + Expertise in security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and antivirus solutions. + Knowledge of cybersecurity standards including HIPAA, NIST, and HITRUST. + Proficiency in PowerShell scripting. + Strong understanding of Active Directory and network security infrastructure. + Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. + Strong communication skills to interact with technical teams, management, and external partners. + Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines. + Experience with incident response and forensic analysis. + Valid California driver's license and proof of auto insurance. Nice to Have + Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or CEH. + Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and data protection strategies. + Experience with VMware, MS SQL Server, and SAN technologies. + Knowledge of emerging cybersecurity threats and trends.
