Network Security Engineer
Description We are recruiting a passionate and detail-oriented Network Security Engineer to safeguard the integrity of our client's computer networks and data. As a Network Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in identifying potential threats, designing, and implementing security measures, and ensuring our systems are resistant to both known and emerging cyber threats. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine and irregular security audits, drafting and enforcing security standards and policies, and ensuring the security and resilience of our networks and data. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will build and maintain systems that protect against cyber risks while ensuring smooth performance. Key Responsibilities Analyze, secure, and monitor the integrity of company computer systems and networks. Develop, implement, and update security measures, protocols, and policies to counteract cyber threats. Conduct periodic and ad hoc security audits and assessments. Respond to security breaches and mitigate the impact of potential incidents. Oversee the deployment, integration, and configuration of security tools. Design strategies to address known vulnerabilities and anticipate unknown risks. Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance measures and security policies. Work with external vendors and internal stakeholders to manage and oversee security solutions. Stay updated with the latest vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and security trends. Passionate about security and love solving complex problems, we encourage you to apply! Requirements Basic Requirements Proven experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related field. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assess and mitigate risks. Familiarity with a variety of security architectures, systems, and protocols. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting policies and collaborating across departments. Technologies & Skills Required as a Security Engineer, you should have experience working with and/or knowledge of the following technologies and tools: Network security tools: Firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and VPNs. Cloud security platforms: AWS Security services, Azure Security Center, and Google Cloud Security. Endpoint protection tools: EDR tools (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne) and antivirus solutions. Vulnerability management tools: Nessus, Qualys, and Rapid7. Identity and access management (IAM): Okta, Microsoft Azure AD, and other SSO/MFA tools. SIEM solutions: Splunk, LogRhythm, IBM QRadar, or similar platforms. Encryption technologies: PKI, SSL/TLS, and disk/file encryption tools. Compliance frameworks: Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, and GDPR. Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate security tasks. Database security tools: Experience with database encryption and monitoring tools, such as Microsoft SQL Server with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE). Preferred Certifications Certified Information Systems Security detail oriented (CISSP). Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC). CompTIA Security+. AWS Certified Security – Specialty (for cloud-focused roles).
