No County Rensselaer Street Address 125 Jordan Road City Troy State NY Zip Code 12180 Duties Description Network System Engineer Series (JG - 23-28)ASSIGNMENT: The Network Systems Engineer/Technician will be assigned to the Division of Technology and Court Research’s Database Administration team, to assist in the operation of their Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure Responsibilities include: • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems.• Management of database upgrades, patching and backups.• Database performance monitoring and tuning.• Analyzing logs to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.• Collaborating with development teams to design and implement relational database schemas.• Writing and debugging PL/SQL or T-SQL procedures.• SQL query optimization.• Creating and maintaining scripts to automate database tasks.• Working with cloud-hosted databases and related technologies, such AzureSQL and Databricks. The ideal candidate should have experience related to the above responsibilities. However, the Database Administration team is willing to train a candidate who may lack some of these skills, provided they have a strong background in computer science.
