Network Technician
Job Description: The Fiber Optic Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic circuits in a data center environment. The role involves handling both single-mode and multi-mode fiber jumpers, ensuring proper patching, and supporting new configurations of network equipment. Minimum Requirements: + Ability to read a port-map. + Proficiency in operating a laptop. + Basic experience with handling and running single-mode and multi-mode fiber jumpers. + Good understanding of patching and running fiber jumpers in a data center environment. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience troubleshooting fiber optic circuits using Visual Fault Locator (VFL), power meter, and loop back. + Proficiency in using spreadsheets. Key Responsibilities: + Un-rack old equipment and rack and stack new equipment. + Install or remove circuit jumpers to support new configurations of network equipment. + Populate switch ports with optical transceivers. + Box and unbox network equipment. + Troubleshoot fiber optic circuits. + Observe all safety protocols and complete daily reports. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
