Job Description
Under minimal supervision, the Neurodiagnostic Technologist III monitors continuous EEG studies to recognize and denote abnormal EEG activity. Additionally, the onsite Neurodiagnostic Tech III performs routine and more complex neurodiagnostic procedures in outpatient and inpatient facilities through a collaborative approach with the healthcare team. Supports and ensures that comprehensive patient care services are provided that support the integrity of the family system and patient care team. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The Neurodiagnostic Technologist III may function as a charge technologist if requested.3 years of experience in inpatient settingPreferred Qualifications

Monitor continuous EEG studies to recognize and annotate any abnormal activity in accordance with ACNS guidelines.Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate alternatives, which lead to desired outcomes in test administration. (Not applicable to remote contingent workers).Perform department basic and advanced competencies related to EEG monitoring, emphasizing seizure recognition and initiation of communication protocol. Unless remote, perform patient assessment as related to care, such as electrode product allergies, movement restrictions, and cognitive function.Maintain continuing medical education and increase technical competencies.Follow departmental guidelines to ensure the best patient care possible.Inform manager or designee of all patient/personal injury or unsafe situations, anticipated problems, and unusual situations, and completes appropriate related documentation according to departmental and hospital guidelines.Communicate effectively with patient/family (onsite employees only), department staff, physicians, and other health care professionals to promote quality patient care.May be responsible for serving as charge technologist requiring prioritization and delegation of orders to appropriate neurodiagnostic staff.
