GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Performs electroneurodiagnostic testing specific to neurodiagnostic department; maintains working
relationships with internal/external customers to ensure accurate and timely procedures and reports.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all electoencephalograms, in accordance with the clinical practice guidelines established by the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) and departmental policy/procedures. (65%)Schedules neurodiagnostic procedures and gives accurate instructions. (10%)Performs all billing documentation and maintains all departmental records according to departmental policy/procedures. (10%)Maintains electrophysiological equipment, supplies, and performs quality control and analysis of all neurodiagnostic testing devices. (10%)Participates in activities to improve the quality of patient care and services provided by the department. (5%)Performs other duties as assigned or required.QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
Bachelor’s Degree; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred
Graduate of an EEG Technologist Certificate Program and/or minimum of six months’ experience in EEG techniques.EMT, Medical Assistant Certification, PA Licensed Practical Nurse.As a component of job responsibilities, employees may have access to covered information, cardholder data, or other confidential customer information that must be protected at all times.
