Summary

Faculty Position:  Neurologist

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Neurologist for its Neuro Oncology Program. The prospective candidate will be appointed at the Assistant Member level, or higher if warranted .   The position involves all aspects of patient care, including the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients. The position works with several specialists in a multi-disciplinary approach to optimize patient care delivery.

 

This position will report to the Neuro Oncology Department Chair and Program Leader.

Responsibilities:

Evaluating and managing the onco-neurological care of patients in both clinic and hospital settings. Performing and interpreting EMG/NCS and reading EEGs in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Commitment and involvement towards the mission of building a strong neuro-immunology program at Moffitt Cancer Center. Supervising the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows in both inpatient and outpatient neurological settings.

 

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Florida medical license or be eligible for one, an M.D. degree, DEA License, and be board certified in Neurology. The applicant should be familiar with a multidisciplinary academic clinical practice setting. Experience in clinical research and clinical trials will be helpful but not required. Excellent spoken and written communication skills and an interest in education and teaching are required.

Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, Florida’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, is a rapidly growing Center affiliated with the University of South Florida. The Cancer Center is comprised of a large ambulatory care facility, newly built inpatient surgical hospital with state of the art operating suites, with a 36-bed blood and marrow transplant program, a 30-bed intensive care unit, a high-volume screening program, and a basic science research facility.
