New Business Construction, Specialist
**JOB SUMMARY:** The Construction Business Specialist position for Southern Company Gas (SCG) is instrumental in ensuring our pipeline assets are entered timely and correctly. This position will work with other departments and external contractors to satisfy construction pre/post requisites and will audit Contractor performance to ensure systems operate accurately and efficiently. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Subject matter expert (SME) in ARM (Asset Resource Management), Contractor Portal, Looker, ARM Scheduler, and Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) with strong problem-solving skills related to contractors and SCG’s systems. This role will support external users and contractors in addressing these challenges. + Create training documents to be utilized by external users for ARM, Contractor Portal, Looker, ARM Scheduler, and CQA. + Testing system enhancements and documenting tickets for external users within these systems: ARM, Contractor Portal, Looker, ARM Scheduler, and CQA. + Quality check on completed paperwork by the contractors; meters pushing over to systems once as-build by our contractors to alleviate skip meters and lost meters + Identify gaps where meters are not captured correctly in all SCG systems by identifying bottlenecks that could potentially delay getting service to customers and payment to the contractors + Compile & analyze main and service status reports for each AGL/CGC Pipeline Contractor weekly. Validate all unnecessary WR’s are canceled within our systems, maintain all WR’s are built timely, identify trends and areas needing attention to meet customer needs. + Builds and develops various reports from ARM Work queue to audit and better illustrate external Contractor performance + Participates in meetings with contractors and takes active role in reviewing contractor performance – + Collaborates with other departments (Sales, Engineering, Project Support, GIS, Customer Experience, etc.) to ensure timely completion and accuracy of new business assets + Research customer & contractor complaints to identify root cause of issue. Present findings and “lessons learned” to immediate supervision for review + Audit commitments made to customers by internal on-boarding team and pipeline contractors then follow up with all parties to make sure commitments are honored.
