Overview This position is responsible for completing all new businessrelated activities and assisting prospective applicants through underwriting to policy acquisition. The New Business Coordinator collects personal data from prospective insureds and external third parties to complete applications for various insurance products. The New Business Coordinator is the liaison between the proposed insured and insurance carrier and continuously follows up with both to ensure the process moves along in a timely fashion. How you'll make an impact Ensuring documents are processed and completed according to established timelines Ordering and tracking attending physician statements (APS) for underwriting purposes Ordering and coordinating life insurance exams Providing timely and accurate updates to applicable team members Review medical records and exam information and immediately notify the appropriate team members of any adverse medical history Review underwriting report with team members at leastbi‐weekly Cross check other team members work as needed Any other responsibilities that may be assigned as needed About You Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Risk Management or related field Maintain (or obtain upon being hired) a current Life and Health Insurance license, including completion of routine continuing education requirements Minimum of two (2) years insurance agency or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience Job Knowledge and Skills: Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe applications, insurance company software, various web‐ based applications and accessing the Internet for research Professional written and oral communication skills Ability to establish effective working relationships with team members, vendors and clients and be able to appropriately represent the Company to external parties Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision in a fastpaced work environment Ability to operate effectively in a team environment Must have excellent organizational and administrative skills Have a client service attitude Takes responsibility for all aspects of their job Produces consistently error‐free work Follows up with team members to ensure goals and objectives are met Responds to requests in a timely and accurate manner and with a sense of urgency Anticipates future problems/situations with underwriting and develops a well‐planned course of action Seeks ways to make future processing simpler or more efficient Takes advantage of opportunities to learn more about the insurance industry and products Willing to work extended hours to meet deadlines #LI-KF1 Compensation and benefits On top of a competitive salary, great teams and exciting career opportunities, we also offer a wide range of benefits.
