Hatch is seeking a New Graduate Structural CAD Technologist in our Mississauga office to support a wide range of heavy industrial and infrastructure projects.

Position Title: 2025-Mississauga- New Graduate Structural CAD Technologist
Position Summary:
The Junior Structural CAD Technologist is responsible for the production of structural 3D models and 2D drawings in accordance with project requirements under the supervision of the Structural Engineer and the Lead Structural Designer. The Junior Structural CAD Technologist is required to apply specialized and/or advanced engineering principles at conceptual and detailed level. Activities include structural steel and concrete 3D modeling and drafting for both front end planning and the detailed engineering phase for multi-discipline projects.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Lead Structural Designer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost, and schedule Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software as required Perform conceptual layout work Develop design details Ensure coordination with designers and engineers within the discipline and with other disciplines Perform clash detection of 3D models with other discipline models Participation in formal engineering review processes Verify onsite condition and dimensions relating to existing facilities Construction supervision dependent upon project demands Incorporate safety in design
Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes):
Associates degree or diploma in Civil/Structural Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D structural designer software packages (knowledge of Bentley MicroStation or Autodesk Revit preferred) Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges Have demonstrated technical aptitude Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Shows critical and creative thinking and problem solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges Adapts and embraces change Has a strong sense of health and safety
