The Research team is the heart of CoStar, capturing market-critical information that enables our commercial real estate clients to make informed, high impact business decisions daily. CoStar Group’s research contributes to the most important segment of our economy, and we are seeking a New Homes Research Manager to join our growing research organization.  

Homes.com (a subsidiary of CoStar Group) is a growing marketplace, reimagining the home search experience for consumers. We are reimagining the Homes.com Network to efficiently connect builders with buyers and their agents and generate maximum exposure for their communities.  

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Research Manager for New Homes will build and lead a world-class team that will redefine the residential real estate marketplace. You will demonstrate your leadership, adaptability, creativity, strategic-thinking, communication, and analytical skills by serving CoStar Group customers. The researchers on your team will collect content on builders and developers of new home construction throughout the United States using proven research methodology and conducting interviews with key players in the market. The content that your team collects will consist of builder profiles and their assets, construction activity, and specs and pricing on new homes.  

You will collaborate with the Development team to create tools and processes to help your team be more effective, with Research partners to expand the quality and depth of data, with Product Design to present the narratives and images, and with Sales to communicate the value proposition of this incredible resource.  

RESPONSIBILITIES  

Lead a team of 8-12 researchers to track all components of new home construction in the United States. 

Deliver a comprehensive database of home builders and their inventory to power Homes.com and CoStar  

Coach, mentor, and develop team members through individual development plans tailored to skill, competencies, and career development that result in a center of excellence.  

Collaborate with leaders and peers in the creation of processes and workflow to elevate the quality and consistency of content for our residential products. 

Manage assignments from inception through completion ensuring deadlines are met. 

Track performance indicators to measure quality and timeliness of content relative to standards and guidelines. 

Communicate and collaborate with clients and internal leaders to resolve issues and assess needs for future operational improvements and innovation. 

Ensure data quality and identify opportunities for data enhancement. 

Promote the advantages of utilizing our suite of products to make informed business decisions and maximize marketing exposure. 

Work with the GIS and content teams when identifying new large-scale master-planned communities that qualify as neighborhoods. 

Partner with CoStar and Homes.com sales organizations to effectively on-board clients and provide additional product training as needed to solve their business needs. 

Provide world-class customer service to all clients with a heavy emphasis on personal attention. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS  

Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit University or College

1+ year experience in the Homebuilding Industry or Commercial Real Estate 

Proven track record of leading a team in achieving operational metrics, and prioritizing and controlling workload to meet deadlines 

A track record of commitment to prior employers

Proven history of exceptional organizational skills 

Effective communication skills 

Ability to work within a collaborative environment. 

Experience and demonstrated proficiency with Excel that includes the ability to manipulate data, filter and develop basic formulas.  

INTERNAL QUALICIATIONS

Internal applicants are expected to have the following education/experience combination:

Bachelor's degree required.

Currently a Senior, Principal Researcher or Research Manager with 1 year of experience in role.

Good standing with Corrective Action

PREFERRED QUALIFCATIONS AND SKILLS  

Experience leading a process. 

Ability to be results oriented. 

Analytical approach with the ability to interpret information and trends, adapting quickly. 

Ability to interact at all levels and establish rapport with both internal and external stakeholders.
