About the Role:

As a New Product Development Electrician, you will play an integral role in the successful development, testing, and improvement of new products. You will be responsible for assembling and wiring new machinery according to detailed engineering schematics, providing insight and feedback to the project management and design team, and troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues to ensure our products meet the highest quality and performance standards.
Key Job Responsibilities Assembly and Wiring: Assemble and wire new machinery according to detailed engineering schematics. Verify conformance of parts to stock lists or designs/blueprints. Pre-Assembly Activities: Prepare wiring, check component power, and perform pre-work risk assessments to ensure all potential safety risks are mitigated prior to work start. Design Interpretation: Read and interpret designs/blueprints, sketches, schematics, and written instructions to assemble electrical harnesses and run electrical through equipment. Component Alignment: Position or align electrical components and wiring for assembly. Maintain lists of missing or compromised electrical components and provide feedback to project management. Design Recommendations: Make recommendations for design changes to improve manufacturability and serviceability for future products or prototypes. Quality Assurance: Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functionality and conformance to customer specifications. Perform installation, repair, inspection, reassembly, replacing, refitting, and adjusting products as required. Prototype Support: Support the development of prototype assembly test procedures and participate in product trials and testing on Komatsu or client sites/ facilities Qualifications/Requirements Licensed Electrician Journeyperson preferred or equivalent technical certification or diploma in electrical/electronics fields with mobile transportation or equipment experience. Minimum of five (5) years related experience with mobile transportation or equipment. Minimum of two (2) years electrical assembly and wiring or rebuild exposure is preferred. Knowledge of mobile electrical systems and interactions with hydraulic, powertrain, and other systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical designs/blueprints and schematics. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software. Ability to operate heavy equipment for testing is preferred. Good report writing ability. Flexible, self-motivated, and driven to achieve customer satisfaction goals and targets. Legally eligible to work in Canada. Ability to work underground if required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Good computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to work in a team environment. High level of initiative with the ability to work independently and as part of a broader team.
