Position Information Position Information Position Availability: Position Title: New School for Social Research Graduate Admission Student Liaison: Student Assistant Specialist Requisition Number: 0406073577 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: Provost/Provost's Office Responsibilities: Graduate admission student liaisons serve as an important contact between the several departments of The New School for Social Research and prospective and admitted students. They are responsible for answering questions about courses, viable lines of study and research, student life, etc. Other inquiries about admission policies, procedures, and requirements should be referred to the Admission Office.
Responsibilities:
Respond to emails sent to the liaison department/program account daily and provide useful guidance and assistance. Upon request, meet with prospective students, either in person, by phone, or virtually, at a mutually convenient time, Arrange class visits for prospective students who are interested in them. Assist with small research projects, directly related to the graduate admission student liaison position, for the Admission Office. Attend monthly liaison meetings, Open House/Information Sessions, including admitted student events, to provide information from the student’s perspective to prospective students.

Work Modality:Hybrid – Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions.
Hours may range between 1 to 3 hours per week. During the heavy admission season, these hours may increase to 8-10 hours per week. Compensation for the Student liaison work will be on an hourly basis, and they will be paid only for actual hours worked.
Salary: $20.00 per hour
