**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** **Description:** **Status:** PRN, as needed **Staffing model/schedule:** Newborn Nursery, 24-hour shifts with only 5 hours required on site, 19 hours on call _(call potentially could be removed in the future)_ . **EMR/EHR:** Epic® **Practice Highlights:** Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led 600+ provider multispecialty group seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join their Neonatology and Pediatric team covering the Newborn Nursery at our Boise hospital. **The Saint Alphonsus Family Maternity Center** delivers 1,200+ infants a year and is staffed by a highly certified L&D nursing staff, OB Hospitalist service, and onsite 24-hour anesthesia (CRNA) coverage. Our safety-oriented team of OB/GYNs collaborate with on-campus Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians, Neonatologists, and genetic counselors to serve the region's diverse patient population. Our 32-bed, Level III NICU in Boise provides a high level of care for 250+ infants annually, offering conventional ventilation, iNO, HFOV, and jet ventilation for very early preterm, late preterm and term infants. The NICU serves families from Boise and the surrounding areas in Idaho and eastern Oregon to allow expert neonatal care close to home. With a commitment to practicing up-to-date, evidence-based medicine, the Family Maternity Center and NICU team’s family-centered approach encourages parents and our expert staff in both the Boise and Nampa units to work together to achieve outcomes that exceed national benchmarks. To learn more about NICU services at Saint Alphonsus, visit: http://www.saintalphonsus.org/nicu. **Responsibilities include:** + Daily rounding on newborn nursery patients to include, but not limited to, physical examinations; completing H&P, daily progress, and discharge notes; and parent education and anticipatory guidance for well newborn infants; + Manage well-newborn patients with the attending Neonatologist as the supervising physician; + Participate in multidisciplinary rounds with the nursery staff by providing active management strategies that may include nutritional adjustments, clinical management, lab and radiology review, and updating families; + Provide on-call support for well-newborn infants and facilitate transfers to the NICU as clinically indicated. **Ideal candidate:** + Graduate from a Nurse Practitioner Program with current RN and APRN licensure; current national board certification as NNP desired (not required); + Current DEA and controlled substance; + Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC – Boise and SAMC - Nampa; + Commitment to practicing up-to-date, evidence-based medicine; team work and cultivating a culture of transformational care; patient care while demonstrating and modeling organizational Mission, Vision and Values; + Enjoys teaching and educating staff. **Community:** Boise, Meridian & Nampa anchor this vibrant and growing mid-sized metropolitan area of 730,000 people.
