NICET III - Fire Sprinkler and Suppression Systems Technician

As the NICET LEVEL III, certified in fire alarm or special hazards systems, you will perform routine and complex maintenance and repairs on various fire alarms systems and suppression equipment, e.g., wet sprinkler, kitchen extinguishing & FM 200 systems.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The purpose of this position is to inspect, service, maintain, repair fire alarm and suppression systems. Identifies hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair. Ensures that work is in accordance with relevant codes. Shall develop and implement procedures to identify and prevent defective services from reoccurring. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

·        NICET Certified Level III – Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems is required

Must have at least High School diploma Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering is highly desired. Minimum five (5) years of experience in the Fire Protection/Life Safety Industry including: Experience in Fire Alarm & Suppression Field as Journeyman and/or Foreman. Extensive knowledge of various types of Sprinkler Systems (wet, dry, pre-action, kitchen extinguishing, fire pumps, etc.)

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: 

High level of knowledge & application of the National Fire Alarm Code and pertinent UFC codes. Must be thoroughly capable of reading, interpreting, and applying system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documents. Ability and willingness to work independently and as a team member on all aspects of fire sprinkler systems, including maintenance, testing, repairs, and troubleshooting

·        Maintain NICET Level II certification for Fire Alarm systems, Special Hazard systems and Inspection/Testing of Water Based Systems.

·        Maintain NICET Level III certification for either Fire Alarms or Special Hazard systems.

 

 

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

Other supervisory duties will be assigned

 

TRAVEL:

Will be required to travel and perform maintenance to several facilities located at NSA Souda Bay.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred) Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Greece – not really required; as a US hire, individual will obtain logistic support privileges to include Alien/Resident ID card provided by the base. Must be able to work in increased environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures. Must be able to work extended periods without leave. Crete has a Mediterranean temperate climate with mild/rainy winters and hot/dry summers.
