Perinatal Outreach Center
As the designated Level IV northeastern New York (NENY) Regional Perinatal Center (RPC), Albany Medical Center provides transport and consultation services to all birthing hospitals in a 25-county area of northeastern New York and western New England. The mission of the Perinatal Outreach Center is to work collaboratively with hospitals and community programs to advance the improvement of quality perinatal healthcare within the NENY region for patients, families and communities. The NICU Registrar is a key member of the Perinatal Outreach team: working together with other team members, including Neonatology, to ensure the accurate and efficient collection and entry of essential neonatal data and helping to support administrative needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Data abstraction and entry into selected databases (e.g. Statewide Perinatal Data System NICU Module, Vermont Oxford Network)Assist with preparation of quality management reports and other studies as applicable.Ensure accuracy and confidentiality in the handling of all patient information.Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.Education:
Associate’s degreeExperience:
Experience with computer data entry, data base, and/or spreadsheetsFamiliarity with Medical or NICU terminologyExperience with patient care medical coding, data collection or analysis preferred.Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills preferred.Ability to function independently and maintain confidentialityFlexible part-time hours available.
