**Job Title: Night Shift Lead for Welding Shop** **Job Description** This candidate will oversee the afternoon/night shift crew, managing a team of approximately 30 people in various departments, including Welding & Fitting (majority), Painting, Hydraulic Assembly, and CNC Press Break Machinists. The role consists of a mix between 50% operations and 50% hands-on work in the Welding/Fitting Department. Responsibilities include leading daily toolbox meetings, overseeing shift cross-over with the day team, setting daily production goals, and maintaining a high safety standard. The candidate will investigate and document incidents, provide quality control of products, and uphold a positive and safe work environment while ensuring production goals are met. Intermediate computer skills are required for managing and utilizing programs such as MS Outlook, internal software systems, SolidWorks viewer, and spreadsheets. **Responsibilities** + Oversee the afternoon/night shift crew. + Manage a team of approximately 30 people across various departments. + Lead daily toolbox meetings and oversee shift cross-over with the day team. + Set daily production goals and ensure they are met. + Maintain the highest safety standards and investigate/document incidents. + Provide quality control of products. + Ensure a positive and safe work environment. + Utilize MS Outlook, internal software systems, SolidWorks viewer, and spreadsheets. **Essential Skills** + Journeyman Welder (Red Seal) certification. + 5 years minimum experience in heavy welding and fitting/fabrication. + Experience with Flux Core (FCAW) and MCAW. + 2 years supervisory experience (semi-flexible). + Intermediate computer skills (MS Office, SolidWorks, etc.). + Experience in fast-paced production environments. + QC experience. + Forklift and overhead crane experience (ticket not required). **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Physical examination (physical, audio, and vision). **Why Work Here?** This is a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting a large, 2-year contract for a mining company.
