Northrop Grumman Marine systems is seeking an on-site Night Shift (two shifts available to choose from) Mechanical Production Engineer Level 2/3 to participate in the development and ongoing support of new and existing steam turbine designs used in surface ship and submarine propulsion and power generation systems for the US Navy. Must be able to apply engineering principles and industry practice in the design of assigned turbine components and subsystems. Must be able to develop design concepts, perform trade studies, and conduct supporting evaluations and analyses. Will participate in detail design, drawing development, design reviews, release for manufacture, and follow through test and production phases. Will prepare and present formal technical briefings as required.
This position focuses on rotating machinery design and general design engineering, including ship and submarine propulsion and power generation systems involving steam turbines, gearboxes and generator sets. Activities include developing new designs from concept, thru detailed design, manufacture and test phases. Job requirements also include supporting manufacturing activities on existing production contracts.
Night Shift A - 4:00 pm - 2:00am Mon - Thurs (10 hour shift)*
OR
Night Shift B - 6:00pm - 6:00am Fri - Sun (12 hour shift)*
*Specific Hours may be shifted. You are required to work one of two Night shifts listed above.

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline with 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master's of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline with no relevant experience.Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance.US Citizenship required.Computer skills developing designs using solid modeling software, such as CREO/NX is required.A working knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 drawing standards and geometric tolerance is also necessary.Must be fluent in mechanical engineering principles, and must be proficient in developing design concepts, performing trades-studies, and conducting supporting evaluations and analyses.Required to work one of two Night Shifts: 4 PM onsite through 2 AM onsite Monday through Thursday (4/10s), OR 6 pm onsite through 6 am onsite Friday through Sunday (3/12’s).Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:

Master's Degree in Engineering Discipline.Knowledge in GD&T and solid modeling NX.Experience in rotating machinery.Salary Range: $87,200.00 - $130,800.00Salary Range 2: $107,300.00 - $160,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
