Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma- Edmond, OK Tuesday-Friday 2230-0900

Essential Functions of Employment with DLO:
• Show up for work, on time & prepared each and every scheduled work day
• Perform all tasks and processes assigned to you including all tasks and processes you are fully qualified to perform and all tasks and processing that you may be over-qualified to perform
• Maintain a positive and supportive attitude throughout each and every scheduled work day & work as a collaborative team member with your fellow teammates on a daily basis

Main Duties: Perform tests in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coag, serology, blood bank and limited microbiology. Assist with specimen processing. Follow employee policies, work with fellow employees in a professional productive manner; perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.



Required Knowledge: General laboratory knowledge, including the use of computers; knowledge of QA and QC as well as knowledge of all areas of the laboratory.

Required Experience: AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Laboratory Science.  ASCP MLS/MLT certification or equivalent or be eligible for national MLS/MLT certification.


Special Requirements: Ability to maintain a professional courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress. Teamwork with fellow employees is a must. Keyboard skills are important as is multitasking. May be required to work overtime or other shifts or days as needed. Required to work some holidays.

Physical and Mental Requirements:  

The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance. Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time. Frequent walking and/or standing. May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
