Responsible for Shift Packaging Production in a 135MM lb/year pasta manufacturing facility. Specifically responsible for ensuring Safe work practices, Quality specifications/ Food Safety/Quality procedures are followed, Developing/Compliance to Standard Work procedures, and adherence to production scheduling/staffing requirements. Responsible for cross-functional collaboration with Maintenance and Quality Leadership to provide active leadership in support of Daily Operations.

Full shift responsibility of Processing Operations. Required to effectively administer the Company Handbook in addition to providing operational/maintenance leadership and decision making with the advice and counsel of the Shift Supervisor and/or Department Manager. Takes direction from Staff members and clearly executes the plan of action. Conducts him/herself as a representative of the leadership team for the company and provides direction, coaching, and discipline as required.
Summary: Responsible for the Processing operations of the plant,
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
Coordinate and adhere to crewing schedule
Execute the production schedule
Coordinate Maintenance efforts with Technicians on shift
Safety training and compliance to safety policies/practices
Ensure direct reports are 100% 5S compliant
Quality training and shift adherence to HACCP
Ensure Startup/Running/Shutdown duties are performed by direct reports and cleaning expectations are met.
Active member of the Safety or Food Safety/Quality (FSQ) committee
Provide accurate/detailed shift recaps
Meet Reprocessing/Regrind expectations
• Monitors and controls Press and Dryer operations
Performs die format and recipe changes on Short and Long Goods press as procedures require.Constantly reviews the processing operation and parameters to monitor production and quality, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement.Maintains adequate records of key production variables such as production volume, yield, plant uptime, utility consumption, etc., on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis, as required.Regularly monitors Die Washing operations and Flour Unloading operations.Participates in projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.• Participates in Quality Assurance program
Communicates directly with QA laboratory to ensure effective participation in the implementation of QA policies and procedures.Samples and tests process streams as required by the QA program and procedures.Audits and Maintains accurate and detailed QA records.Understands and interprets QA results and takes appropriate action when required.• Participates in plant maintenance program
Communicates directly with the maintenance department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.Performs preventive maintenance activities as required.Assists maintenance technicians in performing maintenance and repairs.Assists with diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance related issues.• Participates in Plant Safety Programs
Knows, understands, follows, and ensures Zerega’s GMP policies and any federal regulations relating to process operations and works in a manner to ensure that these regulations are met at all times.Ensures direct reports works in a safe manner at all times and leads by example.• Other Duties:
Participates, complies, and follows 5S organizational program.Participates in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.Monitors use and inventories of process chemicals and supplies used in Pressroom.• Education and Pertinent/Proven Experience:
The minimum requirements for education and experience are listed below. Consideration will be given to individuals with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
High school diploma.Post-secondary education and /or a technical trade certificate is desired.Candidates with experience in the operation of a dry-mill ethanol plant are preferred.• Schedule:
8-10hour shifts w/ ability to work OT as required by Production Schedule demands.• Computer Skills:
Must have the ability to learn and work effectively with Windows based OS and the plant’s internal “Infostream” data collection program.Expertise and/or proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email, and spreadsheets are an asset.• Physical Requirements:
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 75lbs.The employee must have the ability work in physically demanding situations, e.g., bending and reaching while standing, leaning, and squatting.Must be able to climb ladders and work on platforms at elevations of 100 feet.• Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
