Essential Functions of Employment with DLO:

• Perform all tasks and processes assigned to you including all tasks and processes you are fully qualified to perform and all tasks and processing that you may be over-qualified to perform
• Maintain a positive and supportive attitude throughout each and every scheduled work day & work as a collaborative team member with your fellow teammates on a daily basis

Main Duties:

Responsible for managing the daily operations within the Specimen Processing and Referral Department. Oversees multiple functions in specimen processing, specimen referrals, test in question and image support. Oversees implementation of SOPs, BPT, Six Sigma Lean projects and initiatives in accordance with Quest and DLO guidelines. Ensures compliance with Federal, State and local license and regulatory requirements, including those of CAP, DOT, IATA, and USPS. Maintains a safe, ergonomically sound, professional environment that actively encourages and supports employee involvement. Responsible for creating a positive work environment that results in limited turnover and excellent Employee Engagement Survey scores.


Required Knowledge:

BS degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.PC Skills and MS Office Applications proficientMedical and reference laboratory processing background preferredMLT certification preferred. 



Required Experience: Minimum – Five years’ experience in a clinical laboratory, including two years supervisory/managerial experiences

Must have interpersonal skills to gain cooperation with other departments and foster continuous improvements. Must be flexible and available based upon staffing requirements, weekends, and holidays. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills and is able to manage client concerns and employees in a professional manner. Makes independent decisions and handles multiple priorities in a high-volume setting. Able to organize and lead projects both within the work group and with cross functional groups.
