We develop scalable, intelligent, and trustworthy AIoT solutions to enable inspiring UX for Bosch products and services in application areas such as automated driving, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), robotics, smart manufacturing, enterprise AI, health care, smart home and building solutions. Our Natural Language Processing group is responsible for advancing Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), for industry applications. Our mission is to develop cutting-edge NLP solutions that drive innovation, solve complex industry problems, and shape the future user experience of Bosch products for both internal and external users in the fields of AI agent, information retrieval, question answering, software engineering assistance, and etc. We work with internal partners at various Bosch business units to transfer our ideas and solutions into future products. We also actively collaborate with leading groups in academia and industry to promote research ideas and publish research findings in internationally renowned conferences and journals, e.g., ACL, EMNLP, ISWC, AAAI, NeurIPS, ICML, ICASSP. **Job Description** + Conduct research on Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Model (LLM) and Foundation Models to address academic and industrial challenges in AI fields. + Collaborate with mentors and other colleagues to integrate the developed methods into prototype systems for Bosch applications such as AI agents, information retrieval, question answering, software engineering assistance, information extraction, etc. + Summarize research findings in high-quality NLP conference papers (e.g., ACL, EMNLP, AAAI) and/or patent submissions. **Qualifications** **Basic Qualifications** + Ph.D. in Computer Science or Engineering (must be a current student or recent graduate – less than 1 year). + Strong research experience in natural language processing, machine learning, and related fields. + Hands-on experience on large language models, including training, fine-tuning, and prompting. + Hands-on experience on state-of-the-art NLP / AI libraries and toolkits + Good communication and team-working skills **Preferred Qualifications** + Publication record in top NLP or machine learning venues (e. g. ACL, EMNLP, AAAI, NAACL, TACL). + R&D experiences on LLM based agents, task planning / decomposition, and reasoning. + R&D experiences on retrieval-augmented generation. + R&D experiences on multi-modal foundation models. + R&D experiences on reinforcement learning **Additional Information** _The U.S. base salary range for this intern position is_ **_$51.00 - $64.00_** _.
