NOC Analyst

 

Work within a Network Operations Center environment focusing on the following tasks:

Proactive monitoring of all Network elements, leveraging monitoring tools such as Solarwinds and Live Action.  Opening incidents and taking action when issues are identified. Actions taken would be but are not limited to: Support incident bridges working with stakeholders   Perform basic trouble shooting tasks, power verification, alarm reviews, log reviews initial assessment. Work with Telecom Service Providers to resolve escalated circuit problems to resolution Work with OEM partners such as Cisco, Checkpoint and F5 to resolve incidents related to the products. Work with internal IT, Operations groups and leadership to drive fix actions to restore services.

 

In addition to incident support the NOC Analyst will be responsible for:

Manage P3 to P5 service requests, assign Project and Operation tickets to the respective vertical engineer and follow up for closure. Document reason for outage. Planning and performing upgrades to firmware and IOS. Remediate security vulnerabilities identified through audit findings and network scans. Perform Capacity Management reviews and report on bandwidth utilization.

 

Other duties as assigned:

Other functions in support the business along with administrative functions not performed on a consistent basis.

 

 

 

Typical Qualifications:  (education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities typically needed to perform this job)

 

Education (if beyond High School or equivalent): 

Preferred - Bachelor in Engineering - Computers / Electronics / Communication or related field, Graduate/Post Graduate in Science/Math/IT

 

Related experience with relevant technology certifications

 

Experience Target (in this job or a related function/field):

3 - 4 years of experience in Network and/or Network Security

Excellent English written and verbal communication skills with specific focus on technical and operational documentation Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills Excellent customer service, analytical and organizational skills Willing to work in 24x7 rotational shift Ability to take initiatives for individual projects as well as work in a team environment

 

Knowledge/Abilities:  (describe type and level of knowledge or ability needed to perform essential job functions and those that enable success in performing this job)

Knowledge and Technical experience in CISCO L3 and L2 switches. Knowledge and Technical Expertise with Routing & Switching Protocol. Basic knowledge of Network Security products such Cisco Firewall and Checkpoint Basic Knowledge in MPLS and VPN networks.

 

Special Certifications (if appropriate--identify if required to perform the job or just preferred): 
Industry certifications (can be used in place of a university degree)

Cisco certifications – CCNA Cisco Certified Network Associate or CCNP Cisco Certified Network Professional Check Point Certifications – CCSA, CCSE, CCSM, etc F5 – Admin, Technical Professional, Certified Specialist
