NOC Analyst

As a Network Operations Infrastructure Analyst (NOC - Analyst) you will provide support for technical processes and operations associated with the Automobile Club of Southern California’s (ACSC) national telecommunications and computing infrastructure.

 

The ACSC NOC supports critical business functions and processes throughout the company on a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week including holidays. The primary focus is on maintaining the highest levels of systems availability, performance, and overall customer satisfaction.

 

What You’ll Do

 

You will perform console operations, production batch support utilizing Control-M, systems/network monitoring (SCOM, Splunk), second-level technical support, system hardware maintenance, controlled documentation development / updates, and process improvements for all production platforms.You will support the following technologies, including a variety of computing systems; VMWare, Mainframes (z/OS); Servers such as Unix, Linux, Windows 2016+ Server, and .NET Systems; SAN systems; local-area networks; national SD-WAN, MPLS & Ethernet wide-area network.

 

What You’ll Need

 

Professional experience of at least 3-5 years in IS Operations as a Computer Operator or Operations Analyst, responsible for monitoring host systems (MVS, Linux, Windows), file servers, and LAN/WAN technologies.Skilled Knowledge of at least one of the following: network topologies, Windows 2016+ server platforms, mainframe operations, and/or systems management platforms (preferably Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, SolarWinds, and HP System Insight Manager).Significant experience as an analyst working in production environments using client/server technology.Must have experience working with at least two of the following core technologies; VMWare, Mainframe hosts (preferably IBM-zOS/z-Linux); global multi-protocol wide-area networks (preferably MPLS/Ethernet); local-area networks; Intel-based personal computers; Windows 2016+ servers; telephone systems; and systems management platforms (preferably Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, Orion Solar Winds and HP System Insight Manager).Experience performing shiftwork in a large-scale, team-oriented, cross-organizational Network Operations Center environment (NOC).Minor certifications in core technologies are desirable.Excellent problem management and customer service skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. Ability to effectively interact with customers and all levels of the organization.Ability to engage 3rd-level resources to report detailed errors and user experiences and lead technical bridges during system outages.A four-year college education emphasizing computer science, engineering, telecommunications, business administration, or a related technical discipline.

The starting pay range for this position is:

$31.76 - $42.34
