NOC Engineer
Job Description

 

Passed Grade12/Matric

Have got 2 to 4 years IT experience,

Strong networking background and an advanced understanding of VoIP environments.

Solid understanding of protocols including SIP, RTP, as well as familiar with the codec’s used

for encoding voice traffic in an IP network.

Have hands-on working experience with different IP phones.

Excellent troubleshooting skills.

Must be customer service focused.

Must be willing to work shifts and the occasional weekend.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must be able to work in a team and on your own.

Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly.

Must have good time management skills.

Must have their own transport (for commuting to work and back)

Troubleshooting and resolving common VoIP

problems - bad call quality, dropped calls, call flow issues, etc.

Offering technical assistance to Clients.

Investigating and

resolving faults on Hosted PBX, IP Phones, Vibe, Mikrotiks, Quintum

gateways, DSL Routers, Cisco routers, switches and other related equipment.

Providing technical reports on faults and ensuring tickets are up to date.

Communicating with clients and all other parties on support issues.

Network alerts monitoring.

Porting.

Handover of support issues.

Night time support issues and calls.

Advantage will be given to candidates who have the following:

IT Qualifications

Cisco qualifications

Proven track record of working with Hosted PBX environments, IP Phones, Vibe, Mikrotiks

and Quintum gateways.

Knowledge of VoIP Monitoring Systems, PRTG, Linux, SSH, Telnet, etc.

Intimate knowledge of SIP and SIP response codes

Knowledge of Vibe Technology
