As a Non-Certified CS/SPD Technician, you will play a key role in how our operating rooms care for our patients and rely on you to successfully set up the operating room. Non-Certified CS/SPD Technicians receive ample support, training, and education, including learning how to operate the latest, state-of-the-art processing equipment and using the newest sterilization tools and concepts. **A caregiver in this position works 11:00pm-7:30pm + on call requirements.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment. + Provide case cart management. + Understand proper handling of equipment, instrumentation and chemicals. + Perform preventative maintenance. + Observe personal protective equipment standards in the decontamination process. + Scan, sort, inspect and assemble instruments by instrument list and wrap and label as documented in the procedure. + Perform recordkeeping. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High school diploma or GED. + Will obtain a sterile processing distribution certification (CRST) by IAHCSMM or CBSPD within 2 years after the new hire period is completed. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + One year of healthcare experience or a similar background in mechanical/manufacturing assembly. + Military experience as a Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F) or similar will be considered.
