Job Title: Non-Destructive Testing Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Non-Destructive Testing Technician to set up and troubleshoot test equipment used in the testing of metallics, ceramics, tribology and surface science, and environmental durability in laboratories that develop high temperature materials such as metals, powders, ceramics, coatings, and lubricants primarily used in aerospace power and propulsion systems.

ResponsibilitiesSet up and troubleshoot test equipment used in the testing of metallics, ceramics, tribology, and surface science.Gather test data and provide it to researchers.Troubleshoot test equipment such as high-speed photography, testing machines, and forming forges for powder metals.Determine test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures.Conduct tests using applicable machines or instruments.Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on testing equipment, including electro-mechanical devices and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance, and Engineering (TFOME) team at the NASA Glenn Research Center provides engineering and technical services in the aeronautics, space power, and propulsion test facilities. You will be working in a small materials testing facility alongside 2 technicians and 1 to 2 researchers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.50 - $33.50
