The Impact You Will Have  

Oversee the North America Aviation Non-Major Risk portfolio including P&L management. 

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

Significant input to existing strategies and direct responsibility for developing new strategies. 

Act as a subject matter expert for the LoB both regionally and globally.

Development of unique/special wordings including oversight of existing products/wordings. 

Underwrite large complex new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets.

Actively negotiate complex pricing as well as terms and conditions with brokers. 

Analyze and anticipate loss-development trends and adjust portfolio strategies accordingly. 

Engage with actuaries on technical adequacy and make proposals to actuaries for reserve setting.  

Negotiate regarding reinsurance concepts including treaty reinsurance within area of responsibility. 

Propose optimal portfolio structure and anticipate portfolio development trends. 

Ensure accurate operation procedures to ensure proper servicing of clients and brokers. 

File maintenance – ensure files are established (whether electronic or paper) and maintained for each risk and transaction handled within the portfolio. 

Proactively support completion of policy administration and credit control processes. 

Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception. 

Proactively drive acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary). 

Proactively liaise with Distribution on market management initiatives (broker strategies). 

Act as an expert and thought leader for the respective LoB globally and regionally.  

Mentor all members of the underwriting team and share best practices. 

Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including e.g. MMC, ARC, Claims, Operations. 

Develop and maintain strong relationships with critical brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. risk managers).  

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

Minimum of 11 years' experience in Underwriting profitable business in LoB. Expert understanding of entire LoB products and portfolio. 

Minimum of 11 years' experience in well recognized established relationships with brokers at peer group level and recognized as expert within market.  

Minimum of 11 years' experience in understanding of regional / local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape, including significant global elements.  

7–10-year experience in understanding of legal and regulatory framework.

7–10-year experience working in complex, global matrix organization. 

 

The annualized base pay range for this role is $154,140-$232,880.  The annual base salary range represents nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
