About you and this role
 

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a North America Polyethylene (NAA PE) Business Finance Manager! This position can be located in Midland, MI or Houston, TX. In this role, you will cover PE business and PE pricing for the region working closely with the Commercial Leadership team, product and sales directors and Finance organization.

You will provide financial reporting and analysis to the P&SP business using in-depth knowledge and advanced expertise in your discipline or functional area including cost accounting background. You will need to analyze and identify internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. You should be able to communicate difficult concepts to senior management to make business decisions based on financial performance indicators.

You will need to be able to lead others to solve complex problems and potentially lead functional teams or projects with risk, and/or complexity. Your performance impacts business direction through the development of new products or services.

Responsibilities

Along with creating, updating, and maintaining business-specific financial reports and scorecards, also provides analysis of performance to highlight to Senior Management areas of concern.Focal point for NAA PE pricing.Receives roll-up of all individual businesses’ financial results in order to provide the final output of Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Prime Spending and Pricing reports.Participates in monthly and quarterly closing process, providing the overall business analysis for the Business group, including following up deviations vs. estimates and planning and coordination of closing activities throughout the different businesses and with the different Corporate functions.Has breadth of expertise in business finance, and influences others to solve complex problems.Coordinates activities across the business finance organization to update results and report accordingly.Tracks and reports the Business Financial Scorecard by Business and Area Management.

Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.A minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience.A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

A degree discipline in finance, engineering, or related.A cost accounting background is preferred.Influential Leadership - ability to inspire and empower others to achieve shared goal.Financial Modeling - skilled at creating mathematical models designed to represent the performance of a financial asset or portfolio of a business.Business Financial Planning - experienced in creating comprehensive evaluations using current known variables to predict future income, asset values and withdrawal plans.Decision Making - ability to make choices by gathering information and assessing alternative resolutions.Internal Controls - skilled at assuring an organization's objectives in operational effectiveness and efficiency, reliable financial reporting, and compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to Delegation of Authority, Approvals and relevant accounting aspects.Engaging People - ability to understand the environment in which one is operating, the ability to gather intelligence and understand others.Analytical Thinking - ability to break down a complex situation into its parts, identify key issues and use logic and critical thinking to solve problems.Strategic Thinking - ability to apply an intentional and rational thought process that focuses on the analysis of critical factors and variables that will influence the long-term success of the business.
