Job Description
The North America Procurement & Supply Chain Leader will oversee and manage procurement and supply chain operations within the designated region, ensuring regional business and functional needs are met, Fugro's businesses are equipped swiftly and efficiently to perform their geo-data services, global category strategies are implemented, at the right total cost of ownership. This role demands a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills while demonstrating a hands-on mentality to guarantee the cost-effective acquisition of goods and services and the seamless operation of the supply chain to support the company’s businesses The successful candidate will act as a key business partner, working closely with various business and functions to align procurement and supply chain strategies with the overall business objectives. Internal alignment with global procurement & supply chain is key for the success in the role.
The North America Procurement & Supply Chain leader reports to the Regional Head of Finance and functionally to the Global Director of Procurement & Supply Chain. This highly strategic role will also have functional managerial responsibilities over country-level Procurement & Supply Chain leads and is expected to drive best practices and collaboration across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering:
Act as a strategic partner to functions, business, and service lines, understanding their needs and aligning procurement and supply chain strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, and Legal, to support business objectives.
Provide expert advice and insights on procurement and supply chain-related matters to senior management.
Drive business value through procurement excellence focusing on P2P and S2C
Strategic Procurement and Supply Chain Management:
Develop in cooperation with global category management - and implement procurement category and supply chain strategies to drive cost savings, ensure high-quality standards, and optimize the flow of goods.
Manage regional procurement and supply chain budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
Supplier and Vendor Relationship Management:
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors to meet the organization's needs.
Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.
Logistics and Inventory Management:
Optimize logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Manage inventory levels to balance supply and demand, minimize costs, and ensure product availability.
Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve supply chain performance.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee the procurement process and supply chain operations to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement and supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
Manage risk and ensure business continuity through effective supplier management and contingency planning.
Develop and build a point of view on how digital solutions can improve the way of working, leveraging technology to streamline processes and drive innovation.
Actively drive the implementation of the “Procurement and Supply Chain towards Full Potential” program
IFS Implementation and Source to Pay Process:
Support the successful implementation and embedding of the Fugro ERP system (IFS) and related “add-ons” (implementation within the region.
Drive adoption and compliance with the source-to-pay process, ensuring all procurement activities are aligned with the company's standards and policies.
Actively support implementing an efficient Procure-to-Pay process in a Shared Services Centre environment.
Sponsor training and support staff on IFS functionalities to maximize utilization and benefits.
Sustainability & Compliance
Contribute to the realization of sustainability and compliance goals & targets.
Drive the role out of the selected sustainability and compliance tools in the region.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop the team of procurement and supply chain professionals (direct and functional reports), fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement, and driving employee motivation (eNPS) score improvement.
Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching.
Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Connect across regions for best practices and partnering in global procurement & supply chain activities.
Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions or sponsorship.
Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
Possess 15+ years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record in strategic procurement, supplier management, supply chain optimization, and contract negotiation.
Proficient in procurement and supply chain software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Certification in procurement and supply chain management (e.g., APICS) is a plus.
Possess or able to obtain a valid passport.
