Position Summary:

This new Supply Chain Network Design and Modeler role is a specialized position which optimizes the design and efficiency of our supply chain network to ensure cost-effective flow of products aimed at improving the efficiency, costs, services, and overall performance of our supply chain. The role will develop the process to enable GFS future sales growth via end to end (Supplier to Customer) supply chain planning and focuses on medium to long term analysis and solution development. This influential role will have high exposure to leadership and requires a combination of technical skills, supply chain knowledge, and the ability to collaborate, and communicate effectively across various departments and Business Unit leaders within GFS.

Essential Functions:

Supply Chain Network Optimization: Analyzing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain network including the sourcing of products while analyzing supply chain tradeoffs between functional areas. Creating supply chain network design models in Network Optimization software to assess the impact of customer transitions/demand, sourcing and inventory optimization, micro-fulfillment, and new Distribution Center location/‘greenfield’ analysis. Identifying optimal solutions based on specific objectives, such as minimizing cost, reducing lead times, or improving service levels where work is checked frequently.

Data Analysis: Collecting, processing, and analyzing small to medium sized sets of data related to demand, supply, inventory, transportation, warehousing and production data to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Develops and maintains distribution network models to analyze various scenarios to represent the tradeoffs within the distribution network.

Cost Analysis: Evaluating the cost implications of different supply chain design decisions and presenting cost-effective solutions while minimizing supply chain network risks and bottlenecks.

Business Continuity: Identifying potential risks in the supply chain based on capacity bottlenecks and determining mitigation strategies by DC due to supply chain disruptions from natural disasters or geopolitical factors.

Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional end to end teams to align network design changes with overall business objectives. This process would be integrated into AOP and LRP timelines and expectations.

Communication: Effective communication skills are crucial for presenting findings, recommendations, while influencing and collaborating with various stakeholders and GFS leadership. Communication will need to be tailored to the audience.

Technology Utilization: Leveraging supply chain modeling software (Sophus) and tools to perform analyses,  create scenarios, and ‘what-if’ model analysis.

Optimization: Identifying opportunities for network improvement, adaptation to changes in market conditions, minimizing costs, and improving service levels.

Self Management: Mostly self-directed while needing leadership guidance, motivated, ability to prioritize and manage fluctuations in workload and changes in priority while working through a lot of ambiguity.

Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Mgt., Operations Research, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering or a related field is required.

Three years of Network Modeling/Design/Optimization via data analytics sources and modeling tools to solve distribution network models preferred

Three years experience in Supply Chain Management Data Analytics preferred.

Functional knowledge in the specific area as defined by the need of the role is preferred, such as:  Sales, Merchandising, Warehousing, Transportation, Inventory Management, Procurement, etc. preferred.
