North American Maintenance Operator
**Position:** **_Electromechanical Technician (Night Shift) – Claremont Fiber Plant_** **Reports To:** **_Fiber Plant Maintenance Manager_** **Position Description:** + Individual will be an employee of the Fiber Plant Maintenance department. The person shall provide support to all areas of the fiber facility + Ability to work a 12 hour shift (Night or Day), climb ladders, enter confined spaces, work at heights, lift up to 75 pounds and be on their feet for the entire shift + Act as a first responder to maintenance breakdown situations involving electrical, mechanical or PC/PLC malfunctions + Complete Preventative and corrective maintenance tasks in a timely manner + Complete work orders and issue parts via SAP CMMS system + Act as a Medical first responder in the Fiber plant + Compliant with all requirements in 40 CFR 261-265 concerning hazardous wastes including but not limited to labeling, storage and transportation of hazardous wastes from production areas to Waste Storage Pad + Work with the technical staff to resolve daily production issues + Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems + Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines + Maintain exceptional housekeeping in maintenance support areas + Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management + Individual can not be at a written level (or above) in our disciplinary action system **Education:** **Required:** + Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience **Preferred:** + Associates Degree in Engineering or technology + Licensed Industrial Tradesman + NCDOL Journeyman Apprentice – Trade Skills Program **Experience** **Required:** + Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner + Ability to read and understand Electrical and Mechanical schematics to aid in equipment troubleshooting + Experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting **Preferred:** + Experience in fiber optic manufacturing + Experience with Servo control drives and motors + Familiar with PLC logic and basic troubleshooting + Experience with pump, chiller and cooling tower maintenance **Skills/Attributes:** + Excellent communication skills + Detail and quality orientated + Knowledge of Basic Statistical tools + Analytical technical problem solver + Motivated team player + Ability to work with little supervision _Prysmian Group, as an Equal Opportunity Employer, aims to attract and recruit individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills and abilities, who will enhance the quality of service and contribute to the Group’s success.
