North American Maintenance Operator

Position:       Electromechanical Technician – Claremont Fiber Plant

Reports To:  Fiber Plant Maintenance Manager

                       

Position Description:

Individual will be an employee of the Fiber Plant Maintenance department.  The person shall provide support to all areas of the fiber facilityAbility to work a 12 hour shift (Night or Day (may or may not train on days but will go to nights eventually)), climb ladders, enter confined spaces, work at heights, lift up to 75 pounds and be on their feet for the entire shiftAct as a first responder to maintenance breakdown situations involving electrical, mechanical or PC/PLC malfunctionsComplete Preventative and corrective maintenance tasks in a timely mannerComplete work orders and issue parts via SAP CMMS systemAct as a Medical first responder in the Fiber plantCompliant with all requirements in 40 CFR 261-265 concerning hazardous wastes including but not limited to labeling, storage and transportation of hazardous wastes from production areas to Waste Storage PadWork with the technical staff to resolve daily production issuesEnsure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management SystemsComply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelinesMaintain exceptional housekeeping in maintenance support areasOther duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management 

Education:  

Required:       

Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:      

Associates Degree in Engineering or technologyLicensed Industrial TradesmanNCDOL Journeyman Apprentice – Trade Skills Program

Experience

Required:

Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely mannerAbility to read and understand Electrical and Mechanical schematics to aid in equipment troubleshootingExperience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting

Preferred:

Experience in fiber optic manufacturingExperience with Servo control drives and motorsFamiliar with PLC logic and basic troubleshootingExperience with pump, chiller and cooling tower maintenance

                       

Skills/Attributes:

Excellent communication skillsDetail and quality orientatedKnowledge of Basic Statistical toolsAnalytical technical problem solverMotivated team playerAbility to work with little supervision
