North Bay Field Service Technician

Boart Longyear is an integrated drilling services and drilling products provider, producing, manufacturing, and operating equipment for the minerals industry, with a drilling presence in water exploration, environmental sampling, energy, and oil sands exploration. We are currently seeking a self-motivated Field Service Technician to fill a position that will be based in  Sudbury, Ontario. This position is a full-time role and the hours of work will be 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

Detecting and troubleshooting irregularities and malfunctionsConstructing foundations for machineryAssembling machinery prior to installationInstalling machinery and mechanical equipmentRepairing or replacing defective machinery partsFabricating parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-upPerforming routine maintenance work on machineryCommissioning Drill Rigs in Workshop & Mine propertiesProviding support to the Fleet and Asset Managers as needed

Required Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:Minimum of 2 years relevant experienceLicensed MechanicAble to meet the physical requirements of the job including lifting and bending Committed to safe practices at all timesAble to work effectively in a fast paced environment Willing to learn Strong team player with good communication skillsAdept at job task planning, organizing and problem solvingExcellent critical thinking and decision making skillsRed Seal Trade Certification would be an asset
