Waste Connections is looking for a **Landfill Gas Technician** to join the **Sun Country Materials C&D Disposal Facility t** eam in **Riverview, FL.** This will be a typically Monday – Friday position working 7am to 5pm, some weekend work may be required on an as needed basis, approximately 50-hour work week. Plus year round OT. Plus $5,000 Stay On Bonus! **Responsibilities include:** + Ensure the Facility’s gas collection and control system (GCCS) remains in compliance with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations. + Perform routine system inspections and repairs on the GCCS facility and document. + Work with Region Engineers, District Manager and Landfill Operations Manager to ensure compliance. + Maintain relationships with other Facility employees as well as consultants, vendors, and contractors. Oversee and coordinate work with vendors and contractors. + Assist in Facility environmental reviews and audits. + Use gas analyzers, equipment, probes, instruments, etc… to monitor gases in the field. + Performing maintenance on pneumatic, electrical and other types of pumps, switches, etc. **Position Requirements:** + Ability to follow established procedures with minimal amount of direct supervision + Work outdoors for most of the day. Be willing to perform a variety of tasks on any given day. Traversing 3:1 slopes and able to walk on inclined surfaces. + Ability to handle objects up to 50 lbs. + Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, contracts, federal, state and local regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. + Experience operating hand, power tools, forklift (telehandler), and man-lift. + Provide on-call response to the system. Maintain a good attitude and a hard work ethic. + Must be mechanically proficient in a variety of systems and field instruments. + Ability to collect data, interpret data and draw valid conclusions.
